Michael S. Simms is the former General Manager of Wainwright
Industries in St. Peters, Missouri. He was instrumental in
implementing many unique personnel and quality improvement
systems and practices, including safety, world-class internal
customer satisfaction and employee involvement systems. His
efforts contributed substantially to Wainwright earning the
1993 Missouri Quality Award, the 1994 Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award and the 1996 Industry Week Best Plants in America
Award.
Today, Mr. Simms consults with organizations nationwide that
are seeking to improve their safety, quality, and employee
involvement practices. He has worked with clients in a variety
of sectors and industries, including healthcare, education,
manufacturing, and government. Health care organizations he
has worked with include the SSM Healthcare System, which earned
the 2002 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. His primary
focus in working with SSM was in middle management training
and employee involvement systems. Mr. Simms specializes in
working with middle managers, aligning them around their specific
roles and responsibilities in fostering trust and high levels
of employee involvement.
