David P. Seifert is a partner in the Healthcare Advisory Panel,
a consulting firm specializing in strategy development, resource
management, and executive counseling. He is the former President
& CEO of St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri,
an 812-bed suburban community hospital. Mr. Seifert's commitment
to the highest quality patient care earned St. Anthony's recognition
as a Top 100 Hospital in 1999. In the five years prior to his retirement
in 2003, he remodeled and upgraded the medical center's entire infrastructure
and facilities with a focus on service, quality and safety. Throughout
his career, he has managed change and growth with an eye for the
long term.
As a founder of Unity Health System in
St. Louis, Mr. Seifert played an integral role in the development
of an integrated delivery system. He has led numerous successful
acquisitions, divestitures, and capital financing projects.
He is particularly adept at physician relationships and has
developed physician/hospital joint ventures and provider networks.
With more than thirty years experience in healthcare, Mr. Seifert
specializes in developing cultures that foster positive employee/management
relationships. Always focused on people, his commitment to the
highest quality patient care begins with his concern for and
interest in all employees of an organization. His keen ability
to listen and respond resulted in strong labor-management relations,
and in maintaining a union-free environment despite efforts
to the contrary.
Mr. Seifert has also been involved in a number of community
and professional organizations. He served on the Board of Directors
of both the Missouri Hospital Association and the St. Louis
Metropolitan Hospital Council. He has served as chairman of
the Board of Midwest Stone Institute, a lithotripsy research
center, and was also a member of the Sisters of Mercy Health
System Corporate Ethics Committee and the Mercy Health Plan
(an HMO) Oversight Committee. Strongly committed to young people,
he has been active in youth ministries and programs.
