Advisory Group Formed to Guide Partnership for Patient Safety
Chicago, March 8, 2003 - Partnership for Patient Safety (p4ps) announced today the formation of an advisory group to provide input on strategic direction consistent with the mission, vision and core values of p4ps. The advisors are policy and thought leaders in the patient safety movement who share a commitment to advancing a patient-centered, systems-based approach to improving the healthcare delivery system. The advisors include: Geri Amori, PhD; Charles R. Denham, MD; Mary E. Foley, MS, RN; Roxanne J. Goeltz; Eric Knox, MD; David Marx, BSE, JD; John J. Nance, JD; Susan E. Sheridan, MIM, MBA; Larry Tye; and Nancy J. Wilson, MD, MPH.
"The breadth of experience that these eight individuals bring to the role of Advisor will be invaluable as we move our healthcare consumer initiatives forward," said Martin J. Hatlie, JD, p4ps President. "Partnership for Patient Safety is dedicated to developing the role of consumer as partner in advancing the safety of the healthcare system, and this thoughtful group will help drive this initiative forward." Partnership for Patient Safety is participating in a consortium grant awarded in late 2002 by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality that will facilitate consumer deliberation to inform the mission and agenda for this initiative.
