Partnership for Patient Safety is a patient-centered initiative to advance the reliability of healthcare systems worldwide. p4ps initiates focused partnerships and joint ventures with organizations and individuals that share our core values and objectives of achieving a healthcare system that is authentically patient-centered and systems based.
p4ps is strongly committed to the integrated goals of embedding patient safety into the educational curricula for healthcare workers and expanding opportunities for consumers to partner in their own care. We believe both endeavors have deep, transformative power.
p4ps is an Illinois corporation established in 2000 by Martin J. Hatlie,
JD, who was founding Executive Director of the National Patient Safety Foundation.
Associate Director, Mitchell L. Dvorak, MS, CAE, joined the
organization in 2003.
In 2003, p4ps leaders worked with people who had experienced medical error to establish Consumers Advancing Patient Safety or CAPS -- a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving healthcare that is safe, compassionate and just
through partnership with providers and policymakers. We are guided by the
Principles, Values & Beliefs articulated by CAPS in everything we do. |
